By now, you should have received your county property tax assessment, and I’m sure you were a little bit shocked by how much it went up.

The thing is, home values in Weber and Davis County have gone up almost 12% since last year, which is the primary reason behind this rise in property taxes. If you think your assessment is too high and you want to appeal it, you have three options.

If you think your assessment is too high, you have options.

First, if you purchased your home within the last year, you can submit your settlement sheet to the county tax assessors so they can assess it at the value you paid for the home.

If you’ve lived in your home for longer than that, you can simply have us pull three comparable properties from your neighborhood that sold for less than what your home’s assessed value is.

Lastly, if you had an appraisal that’s less than what your assessment is, you can also show that to the county tax assessment office.

If you have any questions about your assessment or would like our help in appealing it, don’t hesitate to give us a call or reply back to this email. We’d be glad to help you.
